Solving the Leave Management Puzzle

Course Overview: 

Managing employee leave is becoming increasingly complex and a burden on many HR and benefits teams. This one-hour course is designed to teach the agent or broker about how to help employers navigate this increasingly challenging aspect of benefits administration.

We will address the topics such as the latest employer trends in managing disability and employee absences, leave and disability related laws, including FMLA, state leave, and ADA as well as the top employer challenges in addressing leave compliance and improving absenteeism.

Speaker: 

Accai has over 18 years of industry experience and held multiple roles.  Prior to becoming a Regional Absence Practice Leader, she was the Manager of a Leave of Absence and Workplace Accommodations program for a 3000 + life company based out of California.  During this time, she was responsible for the day-to-day relationship with the leave of absence vendor, leave plan design updates, leave of absence consultations with internal stakeholders (including employees), process development, and administration of the overall program.  Throughout the past 18 years, Accai has also managed an integrated claims team, performed leave claim audits, and provided process improvement recommendations for multiple clients.  Accai received her undergraduate degree in Communications, Master’s degree in Business Administration, and holds a CLMS designation.
